Sand Harbor

 

Sand Harbor beach is a popular destination located in Sand Harbor State Park on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. It is known for its stunning blue waters and picturesque setting. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and various beach activities at the 2,500-foot-long Main Beach. There is also a small launch corridor available for non-motorized watercraft at the south end of the beach.

Sand Harbor State Park offers picnic areas with barbecues and tables, providing a peaceful retreat for visitors. The park is also known for hosting the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival every summer.

Hours of Operation 

  • Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park is open from seven in the morning until one hour after sunset.

  • When the parking lot is full, Sand Harbor will close, and cars won't be allowed in the park until it reopens, which is typically around 5 p.m.

  • Please be aware that parking along Highway 28 at Sand Harbor and walk-ins are both forbidden.
