Whale Beach

Whale Beach is a popular beach located on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe in Nevada, within the city limits of Carson City. It is also known as Black Sand Beach, named after the dark color of its sand. The beach is situated off Highway 28 and is accessible by hiking.

Whale Beach offers a secluded and picturesque setting for visitors. While the hike to the beach can be challenging, it rewards beachgoers with beautiful scenery and privacy. The beach is known for a protruding rock in the bay that resembles a sperm whale bursting from the water, giving the beach its name.

It's important to note that Whale Beach does not provide any facilities such as picnic tables or campfire pits. However, its scenic location makes it a great spot for watching sunsets and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere.
