Rockpile Treehouse: Tahoe's Hidden Gem on the Boulders

Yes, you read it right, The Rockpile Treehouse is located atop a majestic pile of boulders in the small enclave of Brockway, next to King’s Beach, Tahoe. It offers an experience that harmoniously blends the allure of an upscale treehouse with sweeping views of Lake Tahoe.

Living Among the Clouds

The Rockpile Treehouse Located on Boulders

This unique property built in 1935 and recently updated, invites guests to a place where vintage rustic meets modern comfort. The main house, the heart of The Rockpile, is a testament to thoughtful design and comfort. Guests must climb up 49 stairs to access this house, but an old Tahoe experience embraces you upon entering the knotty pine front hall. This historic cabin features a cozy master bedroom with a queen bed, a master bathroom, and an efficient and well-equipped kitchen.  The living room, with panoramic lake views, will leave you breathless at sunset. The original stone fireplace and soft sofas in the living area add a touch of warmth, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Tahoe's natural splendor.

Dine with a View

The front deck and BBQ deck present awe-inspiring views of Lake Tahoe, making every cup of coffee, cocktail, or dinner an unforgettable experience. Whether it's basking in the glow of the sunset or enjoying a meal under the stars, the beauty of Tahoe is always your dining companion.  Snuggled amongst the boulders is another deck offering a sunny private oasis, tucked away from everything.  Sit in a lounge chair and read, enjoy dinner at the log and glass table, or soak up the stars while relaxing in the hot tub.   No matter where you are in the house, every moment at The Rockpile is filled with beauty and tranquility.

A Retreat Within a Retreat

Beyond the main house and down an outside set of stairs, lies a bedroom with twin beds and a separate bathroom, providing additional privacy and comfort. Further down, a charming cabin awaits, featuring a queen bed, bathroom, electric fireplace, microwave oven, and coffee pot.  Enjoy your morning coffee before joining others up in the main house, on an additional deck, nestled among the boulders.

In addition to the uniqueness of this cabin, a small neighborhood beach, Speedboat Beach, lies around the corner,  a short 3-minute walk from the house. This beach features a sandy cove during low water years and large boulders which make this one of the most scenic beaches around the lake.  The boulders of the beach provide a great place to swim and sun.
