Privacy policy
This explains what MG Vacation Rentals ("MG", "we") collects on mgvacationrentals.com, why, who else handles it, and how to ask us to delete it. We don't sell personal information.
What we collect
When you book
Your name, email, and phone number if you give it; your dates and number of guests; and the booking itself. We use these to hold and confirm the stay, send your arrival details and rental agreement, collect the balance on its due date, and contact you about the stay.
When you pay
Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor, through Stripe's own payment form. They never pass through our servers and we never see the full card number. Stripe keeps the payment record and may use it to prevent fraud.
When you send a message
The contact form sends your name, email, optional phone and your message (and your property's address if you ask about management) into our office inbox, so we can reply.
How you found us
The first time you visit, your browser stores a small record of how you arrived: the page that sent you (the referrer), the page you landed on, any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source or a Google Ads gclid), and the time. It's kept in your browser's local storage and a first-party cookie named mg_attr_v1 for 180 days, and is only sent to us if you book, so we know which marketing leads to stays. It does not include your IP address or any device fingerprint.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting providers keep standard request logs (such as time, page and IP address) for security and reliability.
Who else handles it
- Stripe: payments.
- Render: hosting of this site and our booking system.
- Email and text providers we use to send your confirmation, arrival details and replies.
- OpenStreetMap: map tiles, loaded only if you open the map on the search page.
- The homeowner of the home you book sees the dates and guest name on their statements.
- Authorities, when the law requires it (for example, county lodging-tax records).
We don't run advertising trackers on this site, and we don't sell or rent your information.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Messages are kept as part of the stay's record. You can ask us to delete anything we're not required to keep.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and California and Nevada residents have those rights under state law. Email or call us using the details below. You can clear the attribution record at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Children
This site is for adults booking travel. The minimum age to rent our homes is 25, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
