In short

North Lake Tahoe breweries in 2026: Tahoe National in Tahoe City, Bear Belly in Kings Beach, two Alibi pubs, and FiftyFifty and Truckee Brewing in Truckee.

The short answer: North Lake Tahoe has fewer breweries than it did a few years ago, and most of them are now in Truckee. On the lake itself you have Tahoe National Brewing Co. in Tahoe City, Bear Belly Brewing Co. in Kings Beach, and Alibi Ale Works' Incline Public House in Incline Village. Truckee adds FiftyFifty Brewing Co. in its new brewpub by the railyard, Truckee Brewing Company (a taproom and a separate restaurant), Donner Creek Brewing, Alibi's Truckee Public House, and Craft & Logic, a taproom that pours other breweries' beer. Tahoe Mountain Brewing in Tahoe City and Alibi's Incline brewery have both closed, so older lists are out of date.

We manage vacation homes in Kings Beach, Tahoe City, Incline Village, Carnelian Bay and Tahoe Vista, and this is the list we give our guests. We checked every address and hour below on October 1, 2026, against each brewery's own website where it posts them. Where a brewery does not post something, we say so. Hours here change with the season, and October and November are the quiet months, so call before you drive.

On the lake: Tahoe City, Kings Beach and Incline Village

These three are the ones you can reach from most of our homes without crossing the hill to Truckee.

1. Tahoe National Brewing Co. (Tahoe City)

Tahoe National is Tahoe City's brewery now. It sits on the lake behind the original Safeway building, next to Lighthouse Spa. Every beer on tap is brewed in the brewhouse behind the bar. The kitchen cooks from scratch and changes its menu by season: the summer 2026 menu was Vietnamese (pho, banh mi, noodle bowls, spring rolls), with a standing list of a burger, wings, a soft pretzel and Chicago deep-dish pizza. There is a kids' menu (burger, chicken tenders, grilled cheese).

  • Address: 850 North Lake Blvd #21, Tahoe City, CA 96145
  • Phone: (530) 807-1031
  • Posted hours: Wednesday to Saturday 11 am–11 pm; Sunday 10 am–11 pm; Monday 5–11 pm; closed Tuesday. The kitchen closes at 10:30 pm.
  • Groups: it takes reservations for parties of up to 20, without a private room. Larger groups need a full buyout.
  • Dogs: the brewery's website does not post a dog policy. Ask before you bring one.

Hours, menu and events are on tahoenational.beer. We could not find posted winter hours, so check the site from December on. Our Tahoe City breakfast guide covers the morning after.

2. Bear Belly Brewing Co. (Kings Beach)

Bear Belly is a nano-brewery, a very small one, with about five of its own beers on tap at a time. It is the bar at Tahoe Backyard, an outdoor gathering space in Kings Beach, walkable from the lake, which also holds the Chickadee Art Collective and resident food vendors: LUMBRE for Mexican food and Dulce Gula for shakes and Mexican sweets. There are yard games, live music and events. Bear Belly held its 7th annual Beartoberfest there on September 19, 2026.

  • Address: 8428 Trout Ave, Kings Beach, CA 96143
  • Posted hours: Tahoe Backyard lists Bear Belly as open 1–9 pm, seven days a week. Bear Belly's own older listing says it closes Mondays and Tuesdays. Its own website was not loading on October 1, 2026.
  • Tahoe Backyard phone: (530) 214-0692
  • Food: from the on-site vendors, which keep their own hours. Outside alcohol is not allowed on the property.
  • Kids: Tahoe Backyard calls itself family friendly and asks that children stay with their parents and stay off the furniture and landscaping.
  • Dogs: leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor area. Barky dogs are asked to stay home.

Most of the seating is outdoors, so this is a sunny-afternoon stop. We could not confirm winter hours. Call before you go after the first snow. For the rest of town, see our Kings Beach area guide.

3. Alibi Ale Works, Incline Public House (Incline Village)

Alibi started brewing in Incline in 2014. In February 2025 it announced it would close its production brewery and Barrel House on Enterprise Street and sell the building, citing rising costs and a slower craft-beer market. The Barrel House held its farewell party on May 3, 2025. The two public houses stayed open, and Alibi said a partner brewery would now make its beer.

The Incline Public House is on Tahoe Blvd across from the Raley's center. It pours about 18 rotating Alibi beers plus cider, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. The kitchen does pub food and Neapolitan-style pizza, which you can also order to go. There is indoor seating, a heated deck and a large outdoor area Alibi calls the Beer Forest. In summer it runs Tunes on Tap, a Thursday concert series. Through the fall it has run weekly trivia and Friday line dancing.

  • Address: 931 Tahoe Blvd, Incline Village, NV 89451
  • Phone: (775) 831-8300
  • Posted hours (late August 2026): Monday to Thursday and Sunday 11 am–9 pm; Friday and Saturday 11 am–10 pm. Happy hour is 3–5 pm on weekdays.
  • Kids: Alibi says it is family friendly and welcomes minors.
  • Dogs: leashed dogs in the Beer Forest and on the lower patio, not indoors.

Alibi's website was blocking automated checks on October 1, so the hours above are the ones it posted in late August. Check alibialeworks.com for winter hours. This is the closest brewery pub to most of our Incline Village homes. Our Incline Village in winter guide covers the rest of the season.

Truckee: the brewery town

Truckee sits north of the lake, reached by Highway 267 from Kings Beach or Highway 89 from Tahoe City, and most of the area's brewing now happens there. Alibi and Craft & Logic are both downtown, and FiftyFifty is in the railyard district at the east end of downtown. Truckee Brewing and Donner Creek are away from downtown, so you will drive or take TART Connect to those.

4. FiftyFifty Brewing Co.

FiftyFifty has brewed in Truckee since 2007 and is best known for Eclipse, its line of barrel-aged beers in bottles it hand-dips in wax. It served its last pints at its old pub on Brockway Road on February 7, 2026, and opened its new flagship brewpub in the Old Lumberyard, Truckee's historic railyard district, in February 2026. The new building has a main dining room and bar, plus an upstairs mezzanine with "The Hideout," which has a pour-your-own beer wall, and "The Library," a quieter room that can be booked for private dining. The kitchen smokes its own meats, and the pub serves breakfast on weekends from 9 am.

  • Address: 10242 Church St, Suite 100, Truckee, CA 96161
  • Phone: (530) 587-2337
  • Hours: the brewery's website does not post daily hours. Call, or check its takeout ordering page.
  • Kids and dogs: we could not find a posted policy for the new pub. Ask when you call.

Older listings still give FiftyFifty's Brockway Road address. Use Church Street. More on the beer and menu at fiftyfiftybrewing.com.

5. Truckee Brewing Company (two locations)

Truckee Brewing has brewed since 2018 and splits its business between two places. Choose based on whether you want dinner.

  • The restaurant (serves food): 10001 Soaring Way, Unit A, Suite 110, Truckee, CA 96161, in the Soaring Ranch center. Phone (530) 214-8001. Posted hours: Monday to Thursday noon–8:30 pm; Friday to Sunday 11:30 am–8:30 pm. It has a pizza oven and a full menu, with dine-in and takeout, and patio seating.
  • The brewery (no food): 10736 Pioneer Trail #1, Truckee, CA 96161. Phone (530) 562-9569. Posted hours: Monday to Thursday 3–8 pm; Friday to Sunday 2–8 pm. This is the industrial taproom next to the brewhouse.
  • Kids and dogs: the website does not post a policy for either location.

Details are at truckeebrewco.com. We could not find posted winter hours, so call in a storm.

6. Donner Creek Brewing

Donner Creek is the small neighborhood one. It is a husband-and-wife brewpub on Deerfield Drive, near the Crossroads center, where the owner brews small batches on a 1/3-barrel system. It also pours a rotating list of other craft beers and sells cans and bottles. The food is grilled cheese panini on Truckee Sourdough bread. Monday nights bring free pool and a tournament, and most Fridays bring live music.

  • Address: 11448 Deerfield Dr, Truckee, CA 96161
  • Phone: (530) 414-9923 (as listed; not on the brewery's site)
  • Hours: not posted on the brewery's website. Call before you go.
  • Kids and dogs: the brewery says it is family and dog friendly.

See donnercreekbrewingtruckee.com.

7. Alibi Ale Works, Truckee Public House

Alibi's second pub opened in downtown Truckee in June 2017. It pours 18 or more rotating Alibi beers plus cider, wine and non-alcoholic drinks. It has communal indoor seating and a large heated beer garden, and it sells cans, bottles, crowlers and growlers to go. It still brews small batches on site now and then, sometimes as a homebrewing class. It is also downtown's busiest music room, with trivia on Tuesdays, line dancing on Wednesdays, an open mic on Mondays and bluegrass on Sundays through the fall.

  • Address: 10069 Bridge St, Truckee, CA 96161
  • Phone: (530) 536-5029
  • Posted hours (late August 2026): Sunday to Thursday noon–9 pm; Friday and Saturday noon–10 pm. The kitchen closes an hour before the bar. Happy hour is 3–5 pm on weekdays.
  • Kids: family friendly; minors welcome.
  • Dogs: leashed in the outdoor beer garden, weather permitting. Not indoors.

Also in Truckee: Craft & Logic (a taproom, not a brewery)

Craft & Logic does not brew. It is a family-owned taproom and bottle shop with more than 30 taps, focused on small, hard-to-find breweries from around the country, plus hard kombucha, cider, wine and non-alcoholic options. The food is small plates. It has a large patio with a view over downtown and the mountains. It sits at 10192 Donner Pass Rd, the address older guides list for Mellow Fellow.

  • Address: 10192 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee, CA 96161
  • Posted hours: noon–9 pm every day except Tuesday, when it is closed
  • Kids and dogs: children are welcome. Well-behaved, leashed pets are allowed outside.

See craftandlogictaproom.com.

Closed or moved: what older lists get wrong

These names still show up in older guides, including the earlier version of this page.

  • Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co. The Tahoe City brewpub at 475 North Lake Blvd and its Truckee taproom in the Kruger-White House on Donner Pass Road are both listed as closed. Tahoe National is now the brewery in Tahoe City.
  • Alibi Ale Works Brewery & Barrel House at 204 East Enterprise St in Incline Village closed in May 2025. The two Alibi public houses are open.
  • FiftyFifty on Brockway Road. FiftyFifty moved to Church Street in February 2026.
  • Mellow Fellow. The stateline pub on the Kings Beach–Crystal Bay line closed after the property was sold at foreclosure, and its Truckee pub is listed as closed. The Truckee address is now Craft & Logic.
  • Brewforia, the beer market and kitchen at 800 Tahoe Blvd in Incline Village, is listed as closed.

Now vs. winter: what to expect

  • October to mid-December: this is the shoulder season. The hours in this guide are the ones posted for fall. Bear Belly's seating is mostly outdoors, so it depends on the weather more than the others. Small places can cut a day or close early when it is slow, so check the day you go.
  • Ski season: expect the pubs to be busiest on weekends and holidays after the lifts close. None of the breweries above had posted 2026–27 winter hours by October 1. Check each website in December.
  • Storms: Highways 267 and 89 to Truckee can have chain controls, and TART Connect can close parts of its zones in heavy snow. For a Truckee brewery night in a storm, ride the bus or stay on the lake. Our Lake Tahoe in winter guide covers chain rules and driving.

Getting back safely: TART and TART Connect

The best way to visit a brewery is to not drive home from it, and North Lake Tahoe's public transit is free.

  • TART Connect is a free, on-demand, curb-to-curb shuttle. You book it in the TART Connect app or by calling (530) 553-0653. Its fall 2026 schedule runs September 8 to December 11:
    • Zone 1, West Shore, Tahoe City and Dollar Hill: 8 am–10 pm daily
    • Zone 2, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe Vista and Kings Beach: 8 am–10 pm daily
    • Olympic Valley and Northstar, to and from Zones 1 and 2: 6–10 pm daily only
    • Truckee, the whole town: 6:30 am–10 pm daily
  • It does not go to Incline Village, and it won't take you directly between Tahoe City and Kings Beach. For that trip, take the TART bus, or book two rides and transfer at the 7-Eleven stop. TART warns that late-evening capacity is limited, so book your ride home early. A ride isn't guaranteed until the app confirms it.
  • TART buses are free. The Mainline runs along the shore from Tahoma through Tahoe City, Kings Beach and Crystal Bay to Incline Village. The Highway 267 route runs between Crystal Bay and Truckee via Northstar, and the Highway 89 route between Tahoe City and Truckee. Last-bus times vary by route and season, so check the schedule at tahoetruckeetransit.com.
  • Pets: North Lake TART Connect carries service animals only. In Truckee, pets in crates are allowed.

The Town of Truckee says its TART Connect runs until midnight in summer and winter and until 10 pm in fall and spring. Winter 2026–27 hours for the North Lake zones were not yet posted on October 1.

Which brewery from which home

  • Staying in Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista or Carnelian Bay: Bear Belly is in town, and TART Connect Zone 2 covers the ride. From homes like Trout and About or Evergreen Hideout in Kings Beach, it is a short trip. Truckee is up Highway 267, and the free Highway 267 bus runs between Crystal Bay and Truckee.
  • Staying in Tahoe City: Tahoe National is the obvious pick, inside TART Connect Zone 1. Mammoth Haven Retreat and Trailside Tahoe Townhouse are our Tahoe City homes.
  • Staying in Incline Village or Crystal Bay: Alibi's Incline Public House is the local pub. TART Connect does not serve Incline, so use the free Mainline bus, a taxi or rideshare, or a designated driver for anything further.
  • Staying on the West Shore (Homewood, Tahoma): there is no brewery on the West Shore. Tahoe National in Tahoe City is the closest, and the West Shore is inside TART Connect Zone 1.

Coming back from a long day? Several of our homes have hot tubs. See the hot tub rentals, or the large-group homes if the brewery trip is a reunion or a ski weekend with friends.

Practical tips

  • Call before you drive. Small breweries change hours with staffing and weather. Three of the places above do not post hours at all.
  • Keep drinks inside the fence. Tahoe Backyard, for one, does not let you carry alcohol past its fences, and the beer gardens at the other pubs are part of the premises. Leave the pint behind when you leave.
  • Take beer home the legal way. Alibi sells cans, bottles, crowlers and growlers to go, Craft & Logic has a bottle shop, and FiftyFifty sells cans and ships to California and Oregon.
  • Bring layers for patios. October evenings get cold fast after sunset, even when the afternoon is warm.

Where to stay

We have no homes in Truckee itself. Our homes are on the North and West Shores, a short drive or a TART ride from the lake breweries, with Truckee's a longer drive over the hill. Browse all MG homes, or start with the Kings Beach, Tahoe City and Incline Village area pages.

Questions

What breweries are open in North Lake Tahoe in 2026?

As of October 2026 the beer made on the North Shore and in Truckee is poured at Tahoe National Brewing Co. in Tahoe City, Bear Belly Brewing Co. in Kings Beach, Alibi Ale Works' public houses in Incline Village and Truckee, and FiftyFifty Brewing Co., Truckee Brewing Company and Donner Creek Brewing in Truckee. Craft & Logic in downtown Truckee is a taproom that pours other breweries' beer.

Is there a brewery in Tahoe City?

Yes. Tahoe National Brewing Co. is at 850 North Lake Blvd #21, on the lake behind the original Safeway building. Its posted hours are Wednesday to Saturday 11 am to 11 pm, Sunday 10 am to 11 pm and Monday 5 to 11 pm, closed Tuesday, and every beer on tap is brewed behind the bar. Tahoe Mountain Brewing, the older Tahoe City brewpub at 475 North Lake Blvd, has closed.

Is there a brewery in Incline Village?

Alibi Ale Works runs its Incline Public House at 931 Tahoe Blvd, across from the Raley's center, with about 18 Alibi beers on draft, pub food and pizza. Alibi closed its Incline production brewery and Barrel House in May 2025 and now has a partner brewery make its beer. Brewforia, the Incline beer market and kitchen, is also closed.

Is there a brewery in Kings Beach?

Yes. Bear Belly Brewing Co. is a nano-brewery with about five rotating taps at Tahoe Backyard, 8428 Trout Ave. Tahoe Backyard lists it as open 1 to 9 pm, seven days a week, with Mexican food and dessert vendors on the same lot. Its own older listing says it closes Mondays and Tuesdays, so check before you go in the off-season.

Are North Lake Tahoe breweries kid friendly?

Most are. Alibi says both of its pubs are family friendly and welcome minors, Tahoe National has a kids' menu, Donner Creek calls itself family and dog friendly, Craft & Logic says children are welcome, and Tahoe Backyard (home of Bear Belly) calls itself family friendly but asks that children stay supervised. Truckee Brewing's Pioneer Trail taproom serves no food, so the Soaring Ranch restaurant is the better stop with kids.

Can I bring my dog to a Tahoe brewery?

At several, outside only. Alibi allows leashed dogs in its outdoor areas but not indoors, Craft & Logic allows well-behaved leashed pets outside, Tahoe Backyard welcomes leashed, well-behaved dogs in its outdoor area, and Donner Creek says it is dog friendly. Note that MG vacation homes do not accept pets.

How do I get back from a brewery without driving?

Use TART. TART Connect is free, on-demand and booked in its app or at (530) 553-0653. In fall 2026 (September 8 to December 11) it runs 8 am to 10 pm daily in the Tahoe City and Kings Beach zones and 6:30 am to 10 pm in Truckee, but it does not go to Incline Village. TART's Mainline bus, which runs from Tahoma to Incline Village, and its Highway 267 bus between Crystal Bay and Truckee are free to all riders.
